Dr. Wilfred Baltazar, Jr.

Dentist

Dr. Wilfred Baltazar graduated from the University of California at San Francisco in 1981 with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Southern California in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Quantitative Business Analysis. Dr. Baltazar continues to surpass the yearly requirement for dental continuing education courses for his own intellectual stimulation and the opportunity to provide the best patient care.

Dr. Baltazar has been in private practice in Mira Mesa for over thirty-two years and celebrates over thirty years at his present location. He is privileged to have had over three generations of patient referral in his dental practice. Dr. Baltazar has been a Regional Dental Consultant for Delta Dental Plan of California since 1992. He also serves as a Dental Consultant for the Dental Board of California Enforcement Unit in the Department of Consumer Affairs. Dr. Baltazar was recently awarded a Certified Dental Consultant with the American Association of Dental Consultants.

Dr. Baltazar was raised in Delano, a small farming community in central California. Toiling in the grape fields at an early age instilled a work ethic that served Dr. Baltazar well in later life. After attending USC on a full scholarship under the NROTC program, he served aboard the USS Samuel Gompers (AD-37) as a Naval Supply Officer.

Dr. Baltazar is married to Shirley Baltazar and recently celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary.They have two sons, Daryl and his wife Lauren and their son Bennett, and Doug and his wife Asli and their newest addition to the family, Paisley.

Dr. Baltazar enjoys playing handball, swimming, and golf; relaxes with a good book and watching sports; meditates with yoga; but everything seems to take a backseat when it comes to his grandchildren, Bennett, Paisley and Alison Rose.

Since 1988 and Counting I Have been part of this amazing Dental Family Team in Mira Mesa.

Born and Raised in San Diego, My childhood upbringing was and until I got married back in 1996 has been a part of this  beautiful community of Mira Mesa. To me, I was able to see the Dental Practice Grow from  when I was young walking to Wangheim Jr. High and stopping by after Middle school to the arcade that was in a corner called Oaktree Plaza. I  had no idea  that across the arcade place existed a dental office of Dr. Baltazar Jr.

Never even thinking I would one day work for this office, I finished my Registered Dental Assisting  program and was placed to intern for Dr. Baltazar Office back in 1/2/1988 then was  hired on 2/18/1988 turned out to be the beginning of this dental practice in my life called HOME. For more than 33 years.  As you can see I have grown with this dental  practice as well as many patients and their families. I have been very lucky to work and continue to work for this amazing office and like all of our patients past, present, and future I always love to serve everyone who walks in through these doors of 9329 Mira Mesa Blvd. 

  I am a mother of 4 young adults  all with the letter A’s (Alissa, Angelica, Alonzo, and Armando Josue), Plus this year on August 17, 2021 My Husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary. This practice as well as myself have grown to a great level of making fond memories and seeing many families grow up like myself to have families of their own and now seeing third generation children. Which makes it even so special to be part of this office.. 

Dr. Baltazar will celebrate 40 years in May 2022  of having this Dental Practice.

Andrea joined Dr. Baltazar's office in 2017. She was born in Palo Alto, California but grew up in San Diego. She loves to watch the sunset, take pictures and enjoys doing makeup on her free time. Andrea will welcome you with a gracious smile and will make sure you have a wonderful experience at our dental office.

After raising three kids we’ve dealt with a lot of dentists over the years. Dr. Baltazar has got to be the best dentist our family has ever had. He’s a no nonsense type of dentist that will only recommend necessary services. You can tell he is always happy to see his patients . His patients are loyal to him as we have many friends that have been seeing him for years. Our family, and now our adult children continue to use him as their dentist because of his extensive knowledge, years of experience, and above all else his honesty.

Dr. Baltazar has been our family dentist for more than 20 years. In all that time, we have received only the absolute best quality care and treatment. His credentials, expertise and reputation are all impeccable.
Whether the treatment plan is simple or complex, he has always taken as much time as necessary to make sure we understand exactly what is to be done and why. We never feel like we're being rushed or being confused by complex technical jargon. One of my fears used to The Needle, but I am still continually amazed by his precise, gentle and deft administration of anesthesia. I actually sort of look forward to it!
His assistants and staff deserve praise, too. Both the front office staff and his technicians are always considerate, cheerful but also knowledgeable. Long-time office manager Cecilia has always been so helpful and friendly to us that we practically regard her as another family member.
Just as we came to Dr. Baltazar's practice by way of an enthusiastic recommendation from a trusted friend, we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for the best dentist in town.

You'll not find a more caring, personal dentist around! I've been going to him for over 10 years. My two young daughters even requested to go to him OVER their previous childhood dentist (who had video games and movies playing at all times) which says alot! Dr. Baltazar is a dentist you can trust with yourself and your family!

My son when he was 5 yrs had a gag reflex, and he got a fear for all those pediatric dentist that all they have to do is make money out of his mouth because he loves sweets. They said that they cannot do the job not unless he'll be sedated. They quoted for services like more than $6000 ($1000 for sedative to make him sleep.) So I did not want to go back to that pedia dentist anymore, till my cousin's wife told me about Dr. Baltazar. Wow! He was very good & knows how to talk to children and trust dentist. He did not let him sleep but he explained everything he was doing to my son. Also, he only recommended to the necessary services which I only paid
